As we track tech talent markets worldwide we continue to see a decrease in the number of companies announcing layoffs and fewer employees affected by these efforts.
Layoffs.fyi (https://layoffs.fyi/) offers consolidated data on companies announcing tech layoffs. During Q4 2023 we saw a lower number of worldwide companies announcing tech layoffs (~200) and fewer employees being affected (~22,000).
There is a similar trend on a monthly basis.
Layoffs.fyi shows data since Q1 2020, making it difficult to interpret a reasonable baseline of companies announcing tech layoffs or affected employees. 2021 shows a very healthy metric in this regard with very few companies announcing tech layoffs (we do not expect this to be a realistic baseline).
